
The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members have quite a few items to discuss when they meet for their regular meeting tonight.
A bid will be awarded for the Richter Road water main extension project and Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds will discuss an order of action of an unsafe building at 1101 W. LaPorte Street. Police Chief David Bacon will talk about parking on the south side of Gibson Street and the members will be ratifying an executive order that restricts parking near the Mayor’s office on Garro Street and the alley. A speed limit change on Webster Avenue will also be presented to the board.
The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 6 p.m.

Marshall County Sheriff Hassel told the Marshall County Commissioners this week that K9 handler, Brandon Cooper, has accepted a position on the Plymouth Fire Department and will no longer be a K9 officer. Sheriff Hassel said a decision had to made about the future of the K9 at the sheriff’s department.
David Miller from Vanco Development requested help from the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission with funding a $35,000 downstream impact study to ultimately replace a culvert under Pioneer Drive. The culvert has the potential to cause drainage and flood plain issues when the city expands development projects on the Tech Farm site and the surrounding area.
The John Glenn School Board approved textbook rental fees this week.
Marshall County DUI Task Force officers dedicated 229.5 hours of extra patrol to rid the roads of impaired drivers from October 2016 to June 2017. Officers also issued a total of 721 citations and warnings. Several arrests were made during that same time. Charges included operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating without ever receiving a license, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, driving while suspended, and many others.
