
Indiana cities, towns, and counties can once again get state funding help for road work. “We are happy to announce today that the program that so many in local government covet, our Community Crossings Matching Grant program, is back,” Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner Joe McGuinness announced Wednesday.

The Town of Bourbon did not receive any funds from the Community Crossings Grant during the most recent round. Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger informed Town Council members about what their next move should be when they met Wednesday evening.
Bourbon Utilities Superintendent Steve Stacy requested permission to work on some faulty storm drains when town council members met last week.
Culver Town Manger Jonathan Leist informed the board last week that the town is one of the few communities in the area who received all the Community Crossings grant funds they requested this year. He said the $206,000 received will go a long way to assist with projects they have in the works.
Indiana Department of Transportation officials will be announcing the Community Crossings grant awards in the next few weeks.
The Bourbon Street Department finalized their projects to be submitted for the state’s Community Crossing’s grant application.
The Plymouth City Council approved additional appropriations to compensate raises for police officers and to fund the city’s match toward the Community Crossings Grant should the city be awarded.
