Renovation Causes Relocation of City Meetings
The renovation of the Plymouth City Building on Michigan Street is set to begin soon. Once the state approves the paperwork, environmental testing will start.
The renovation project will prompt the relocation of city meetings. The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety and the Plymouth City Council meetings will be held at the Plymouth Fire Department Training Classroom beginning Sept. 11. Those attending are asked to use the entrance on the south side of the Plymouth Fire Department building at 111 N. Center Street.
Verizon Hopes to Boost Cell Phone Coverage in Centennial Park
Increased cell phone coverage may be coming to Centennial Park in Plymouth. Last year, Verizon had a truck placed in the park to provide additional coverage during the Marshall County Blueberry Festival. Now, the company’s looking for a year-round solution. Continue reading

City of Plymouth Accepts Park Donation
A private park on the north side of Plymouth is now under the city’s control. Last night Plymouth Board of Park and Recreation accepted the donation of Price Memorial Park into its park system. The Ray L. Price Foundation has operated the 12 acre facility for many years. Located across from Centennial Park, it includes a large swimming and fishing pond, a gazebo, two picnic shelters, a playground and a caretaker’s residence. The park has been a fixture in the community for generations of Plymouth families.
Mayor Mark Senter says the park is a “natural fit and another positive development in the city.”
Plymouth Mayor Honors Longtime Park Board Member
Longtime Plymouth Park Board member Sally Greenlee now has a key to the city. Mayor Mark Senter presented it during Monday’s meeting and read a proclamation in her honor. Mrs. Greenlee was appointed to the park board in 1999 by her husband, then-mayor Jack Greenlee. She served for 15 years and was also a member of the Plymouth Plan Commission. Continue reading
