Town of Argos to Hold Two Large Item Clean-Up Days This Month

To help community members spruce up their properties for springtime, the Town of Argos will conduct two separate large item clean-up days during the month of April.

When town council members met last week, Council President George Null encouraged residents to take pride in their properties and advised them to take advantage of these clean-up days to rid their yards of any big eye-sores.

Argos Residents Can Now Pay and Review Utility Bills Online

Residents in the Town of Argos are now able to review and pay their utility bills online.

Town officials recently shared that the town will be utilizing the Payment Service Network (PSN) for utilities. As per the statement of a traffic violations lawyer, it was noted that all traffic violation tickets must still be paid through the Marshall County Clerk’s Office.

Argos Town Council Holds Public Hearing over 2019 Budget

The Argos Town Council held a public hearing over the proposed budget for 2019 when they met on Wednesday. Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said there were no comments provided by the public. The hearing was closed and council members went on with their regularly scheduled meeting where they approved the budget on first reading.

According to the Indiana Gateway for Governmental Units, Argos has a total budget estimate of $1,901,821. Continue reading

Indiana Governor Unveils 2019 NextLevel Connections Initiative

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb made a stop at the INDOT Plymouth Subdistrict building in Plymouth Wednesday afternoon to reveal plans in the 2019 NextLevel Connections Initiative. Those plans include internet connectivity, a trails project that connects the entire state, road improvements on U.S. 31, U.S. 20, U.S. 30 and I-69, international flights out of the Indianapolis Airport, a fourth water port in Lawrenceberg and South Shore double rail tracking projects.

Marshall County Building Administrator Chuck Dewitt recently informed Argos Town Council members of an existing zoning rule that isn’t being followed by some downtown building owners. The Town of Argos is geared toward growth, and officials are currently taking steps to show it.

Aside from working with the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation to construct a manufacturing center at the Dewey Street industrial park, town officials are also working in conjunction with the Argos Community Development Corporation on a potential housing development at the Colonial Estates property. Building Commissioner Chuck Dewitt Informs Argos Town Council of Variance Procedure

The Argos Town Council recently entered into an agreement with Marshall County Building Commissioner Chuck Dewitt for planning and zoning assistance. According to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney, his help is already paying off.

“We kind of hired Chuck Dewitt as an advisor to our plan commission and board of zoning to help us better understand some of the things that needed to be done.” Mullaney explained, “Matters would be heard before the town council that we not have realized were a zoning issue or a plan commission issue and they’re now correcting that.” Continue reading
