The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety (BPWS) approved the request for a temporary street closure south bound on Michigan St. from September 6 to the 16th made by Center Twp. Trustee Amy Knapp for the purpose of painting the concrete structure below the Michigan St. Viaduct.

Plymouth Cemetery Superintendent to order two Columbariums

Cemetery Superintendent Michael Collins updated the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety (BPWS) that after he reviewed the submitted quotes, he proceeded to order two Columbariums at $18,030.00 each from The Remembrance Centre while still remaining within the $50,000 budget allowing financial room to do the foundation work and sidewalks.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works approved the street closure request submitted by the Plymouth Public Library for a One Book One City event. Garro Street will be closed from the United States Post Office to the corner of Michigan St. and Garro St. on Saturday, October 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an event focused on “The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers” by Maxwell King. Downtown businesses, non-profit organizations, and volunteers will be providing entertainment, a chili cook off, and games for families.

Plymouth Board of Works Approves Lowest Bidder for Cemetery and Street Projects, Brownfield Grant Update

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety recently gave preliminary approval to award the cemetery and street project to the lowest responsive bidder pending the approval of the engineers. City of Plymouth Attorney Sean Surrisi illustrated that it would be advantageous to get work scheduled as soon as possible. E&B Paving in Rochester submitted a bid of $886,494.19. Several other bids came in at over $1M. With continually rising costs, Street Superintendent James Marquardt was hopeful that a qualified bid came in within budget.

Plymouth Board of Public Works Approves Rees Request to Display Banners for Grand Re-opening

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Board of Public Works approved the request submitted by the Rees to display new banners created by Shelley Heiden of Heiden Creative on the lamp posts through downtown and River Park Square after Labor Day Weekend and through November announcing and celebrating the grand re-opening of the Rees, “Rees for the Stars” which will be held from Saturday, October 1 through Saturday, October 8.
