State officials from several agencies are warning of an extremely potent and potentially deadly mix of heroin that has made its way into Indiana.

Prescription Drug Take Back Event a Success
The Indiana State Police, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Agency, held its 13th annual prescription drug take back event on Saturday.
Collections sites were available at Indiana State Police posts in the state, with the exception of the Toll Road post. Residents could drop off unwanted, unused or expired liquid or pill prescription medications during a four hour period on Saturday.
Drug Take Back Event is Today
The 13th annual prescription drug take back initiative will take place at all Indiana State Police Posts today. The only location not accepting unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs is at the Toll Road Post.
A partnership between the Indiana State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration is making this possible. The event expects to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through the proper disposal of prescription drugs.

Two ISP Bremen Post Troopers Receive Awards
Two Indiana State Police Troopers were honored during the spring awards ceremony in Indianapolis on Friday.
Trooper Jonathan Price was the recipient of the Trooper of The District award for the Bremen Post for the second year in a row. In 2016, Price made 421 criminal arrests, 134 felony arrests, and worked on 116 incident reports. He also issued 1,242 traffic tickets and made 28 operating a vehicle while intoxicated arrests. In addition to these honors, Trooper Price was recently given the OWI award for the Elkhart County Drug-Free Partnership for the third consecutive year.
Monterey Infant Killed, Parents Injured in Saturday Crash
A two-vehicle crash near Argos claims the life of an infant from Monterey. It happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 31 at State Road 110. The Indiana State Police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Rochester and Argos Police Departments all responded. Continue reading
