Administrator Contracts Approved by Argos School Board
Argos School Board members considered administration contracts for 2019 when they met for their final meeting of the year. Superintendent Ned Speicher shared how the proposed raises included in the contracts were determined.

Argos School Corporation Sees Fifteen Percent Cost Reduction in ESCRFT Insurance Package
Argos School Board members considered an ESCRFT rate renewal for 2019 when they met this week.
ESCRFT stands for Educational Service Centers Risk Funding Trust. According to the Northern Indiana Educational Services Center, ESCRFT is an insurance risk pool that was formed to provide property, casualty and workers compensation insurance to its members. Continue reading
Effective and Highly Effective Argos Teachers to Receive Teacher Appreciation Grant Funds This Friday
The Argos Community School Corporation received about $18,720 from the 2018 Teacher Appreciation Grant administered through the Indiana Department of Education.
Superintendent Ned Speicher noted that the grant amount is based on the way students performed on the ISTEP test and the growth that was measured. The funds are distributed to the teachers who received an effective or highly effective rating on their evaluations. Continue reading
Retiring Argos School Board Members Recognized for Years of Service
Argos school officials wished farewell to three retiring board members when they met Monday night.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said the members who will be stepping out at the end of the year were recognized and awarded plaques for their years of commitment to the school corporation.

Marshall County Council Meets Today
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel is expected to discuss a part-time security officer and will submit a request to apply for a marine patrol assistance grant when County Council members meet today.
County Council members are also anticipated to receive a presentation over a supportive housing project from Garden Court, Inc representatives Brent Martin and Jim Causey. A job description and wage for a code enforcement officer will be discussed by Plan Director Ty Adley and Health Administrator Christine Stinson will submit two grant application requests. Marshall County Mid-Term Election Results
A little more than 15,080 Marshall County residents cast a ballot in the 2018 Midterm Elections. A total of 10,336 ballots were recorded from Tuesday’s election at the polls and another 4,745 votes came from residents who cast absentee ballots. Continue reading
Washington D.C. Trip Approved by Argos School Board
When the Argos School Board members met last week, they provided final approval on a field trip request that they tentatively approved in September.
Last month, school board members tentatively approved a Washington D.C. Trip under the condition that there would be enough students interested and chaperones available. Go Solutions Contract Approved by Argos School Board
Argos School Board members approved the Go Solutions Contract for 2019 when they met last Monday. Superintendent Ned Speicher explained that the contract will help the school corporation secure specific funding to help pay for special education services.
Speicher explained, “Every school district is in a special education cooperative with other districts and so all the districts in the cooperative need to approve those contracts so we can get Medicaid reimbursement for services to handicapped children.” Continue reading
Argos School Board Adopts Policies Related to Board Transition
Argos School Board members took one final step in the process of transitioning from an appointed school board to an elected one when members met Monday night.
Superintendent Ned Speicher explained that the members passed some updated NEOLA policies that reflect the change. Marshall County Community Foundation Grant Accepted at Argos School Board Meeting
Argos School Board members officially accepted a donation from the Marshall County Community Foundation when they met Monday night.
The MCCF supplied a total of $96,293 to 14 different Marshall County Organizations during their fall grant round. Argos Superintendent Ned Speicher shared that the school’s theater department was one of the organizations that benefited from those funds. Continue reading
Summer/Fall Construction Project Declared Substantially Complete by Argos School Board
Argos School Board members declared the corporation’s ongoing construction project substantially complete when they met Monday night.
