Argos School Officials Create Account Designated for Buying Winter Wear for Kids in Need

Argos elementary school students in need of winter apparel will be able to get some assistance through the school corporation thanks to a recent donation.

Superintendent Ned Speicher said when school board members met this month, they approved a donation that was made to specifically buy hats, gloves and other winter items for students in need.

He said initial donation amount that approved was for $1,000 but he expects contributions to continue to come into the fund.

Speicher explained that a special charity account was created for the donation, to keep the money separate from any tax dollars or state funding.

In order to access the funds, parents or teachers who are looking to assist a student can get in contact with the elementary school principal. They will be able to coordinate with other administrators about releasing the money for the purpose of purchasing the needed winter clothing.
