
On Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, at approximately 4:58 AM, Marshall County Officer Wozniak observed a vehicle traveling southbound on US 31 from 14th Road at 115 MPH in a posted 60 MPH zone.
The officer was able to get the vehicle stopped at US 31 and State Road 10. The driver, 31-year-old Krystal S. Hardy, was taken into custody for reckless driving and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
On Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at approximately 9:27 pm, a Marshall County Officer initiated a traffic stop on US 31 near 14th Rd for an equipment violation.
During the investigation, a separate vehicle interfered with the investigation. Shannon Brown, 24, was transported to the Marshall County Jail for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license, and misuse of emergency telecommunication systems.
The driver of the second vehicle, Shaunyae Monique Sowell, 33, was transported to the Marshall County Jail for refusal to identify, resisting law enforcement, and misuse of emergency telecommunications systems.
On January 28, 2026, at approximately 7:09 PM, Marshall County Deputies were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle that was daisy-chained to two other vehicles heading southbound on US 31 near SR 10.
The vehicle pulling the other two vehicles had no front headlight, and there were no marker lights on the rear of the vehicle. Marshall County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The operator of the vehicle, Miguel G. Lopez-Navarrette of El Paso, Texas, was taken into custody for Criminal Recklessness and given numerous citations for safety violations and other traffic violations.
On Friday, January 30th 2026, at approximately 5:30 pm, a Marshall County Officer initiated a traffic stop on US 31 near SR 10 for a moving violation. During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver, Harvey Burkett, 33, was operating with suspended driving privileges.
Burkett was transported to the Marshall County Jail for driving while suspended with a prior.
While off duty, a Marshall County Deputy observed a vehicle being operated recklessly and aggressively, endangering the lives of other motorists. The Deputy initiated a traffic stop and placed the driver, Brent A. Ross, 20, into custody.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
