Leading police on a car chase while over twice the legal limit for alcohol is what police say got a Plymouth woman arrested early Saturday morning. Plymouth Police say around 12:40 a.m., they saw a vehicle heading east on Jefferson Street drive up onto the curb and then back into the eastbound lane, before turning north on Plum Street.
Plymouth School Superintendent Discusses Proposed School Accountability Changes
Plymouth school administrators are among those weighing in on proposed changes to school accountability standards. During Tuesday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Andy Hartley reported that the State Board of Education is still working on its new accountability rules. “A few of us were up in South Bend testifying before the state board,” he said. “They had a hearing up there, they did some regional hearings – just providing our feedback and comments, as well as many other educators and citizens from the area.”

Pulaski County was added to the state’s disaster emergency declaration Tuesday, in response to recent flooding. So far, Governor Eric Holcomb has declared a disaster emergency in 22 Indiana counties, including Starke, Marshall, St. Joseph, Fulton, and Jasper, as well as Pulaski.
Cocaine, Marijuana Allegedly Found During Marshall County Traffic Stop
A Sunday night traffic stop reportedly led to the discovery of cocaine. Marshall County Police say they pulled over a 2012 Chevrolet Impala at around 11:42 p.m. in the area of U.S. 31 and 11th Road.
Disaster Declaration Issued for Marshall County
The Marshall County Commissioners have issued a disaster declaration, in response to this week’s record-breaking flooding. Those who’ve experienced property damage due to recent flooding can report it to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. Department officials say homeowners, renters, businesses, and non-profit organizations can all report uninsured damage caused by severe storms and flooding since February 15. That could include structural damage to homes, as well as the loss of personal property.
Flood Warnings Continue As Local Rivers Reach Flood Stage
Flood warnings continue throughout the local area, and some rivers could reach record levels in the coming days. In Plymouth, the Yellow River has risen above 17 feet, surpassing a record set in 1954, according to the National Weather Service.
