Flood Warnings Continue As Local Rivers Reach Flood Stage

Flood warnings continue throughout the local area, and some rivers could reach record levels in the coming days. In Plymouth, the Yellow River has risen above 17 feet, surpassing a record set in 1954, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service says the Kankakee River is approaching major flood levels at Davis Meanwhile, the Tippecanoe River has risen to flood stage at Winamac and major flood state at Ora. It’s expected to keep rising until this weekend, cresting at over 14 feet in Winamac and over 15 feet in Ora.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Yellow River in Knox was approaching flood stage. The National Weather Service forecasts major flooding Friday and Saturday.
