Plymouth Woman Arrested Following Police Pursuit

Leading police on a car chase while over twice the legal limit for alcohol is what police say got a Plymouth woman arrested early Saturday morning. Plymouth Police say around 12:40 a.m., they saw a vehicle heading east on Jefferson Street drive up onto the curb and then back into the eastbound lane, before turning north on Plum Street.

At that point, the police officer reportedly tried to stop the car. But the driver, Mayte R. Jimenez De Arroyo, 28, allegedly kept going. Police say she turned onto Monroe Street and then back onto Plum Street, narrowly missing several parked cars in the process.

She finally pulled into a back yard at the corner of Walnut and Novelty streets, according to police. Officers say it took several commands before she finally got out of the vehicle.

She was taken to the Marshall County Jail for resisting arrest with a vehicle and operating while intoxicated – endangering.
