The Marshall County Election Board is beginning to put ideas to paper that may affect the future of voting in Marshall County.
Thursday night, the Election Board held a public hearing on a plan that would transition their operations during election season to a vote center model. The concept aims to reduce the number of polling sites, but allow voters to cast the proper ballot from any of the locations. Thursday night’s meeting was used to explain the process, but also begin to form more concrete proposals.

Gas prices in the immediate area have taken a dip in recent weeks.
Those trends are largely in line with predictions made by GasBuddy.com analysts during the holiday period. Gas was predicted to stay below $2 per gallon through the New Year, pushing as high at $1.99 in some areas.

More American Households Qualify for Free File Tax Services
The Internal Revenue Service is looking to help more middle income households file their tax returns for free.
This year, the Free File Alliance and the IRS have re-launched the Free File program. For 2016, there are 13 tax software providers that have made their federal tax return products available for free.
