Memorials may be given to the Marshall County Humane Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.

Resolve to Recycle This Holiday Season

The United States Environmental Protection Agency estimates Americans generate 25-million extra tons of waste between Thanksgiving and New Years Day. Indiana Recycling Coalition spokeswoman Carrie Hamilton encourages Hoosiers to consider reusing and recycling year round. Marshall County Approves Intergovernmental Agreement with Plymouth

A bit of extra consideration has led the Marshall County Commissioners to approve an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Plymouth.

The contract was tabled at the Commissioner’s previous meeting. Under the agreement, Plymouth financially compensates the County for the use of their Planning and Zoning services.

County Commissioners Approve Recommendation for Community Corrections Offering

It’s an “historical” moment for the development of the Marshall County Community Corrections program.

That’s the assessment of Superior Court II Judge Dean Colvin, who appeared Monday morning before the Marshall County Commissioners. A newly formed Community Corrections Board has taken some time to develop a job description, advertise a vacancy, review candidate credentials, and recommend a candidate to oversee the program’s operations.

Argos to Hold Tie-Breaker Vote Following Alleged Secret Ballot Violation

vote2The Town of Argos plans to re-do a vote taken last month to determine who fills a vacancy on its Town Council.

During their November 18th meeting, the Argos Town Council took a vote to break a tie between incumbent Dustin Johnson (D) and Randy Snead (R) following the General Municipal Election. The Marshall County Clerk’s office notified the town of the need to break the tie after certifying that one had indeed taken place.
