According to court documents filed with the Marshall County Clerk’s Office, Amber Despot, the mother of one of the passengers, is suing the driver of the truck that allegedly crashed into the bus, along with the truck’s owner.

Culver School Board Again Makes Arrangements for Bus Purchase, Following Procedural Error
The Culver Community Schools Corporation’s purchase of a new bus hit another procedural snag that had to be corrected by the school board Thursday. School officials have decided to replace an extra bus this year. The bus in question was originally scheduled for replacement in 2020.
Culver School Board Makes Arrangements for Bus Purchase
The Culver Community Schools Corporation is looking to replace an extra school bus this year. Bus 24 was scheduled to be replaced in 2020, but school officials have decided to move that forward, according to Treasurer Casey Howard. The school board took steps to make funds available earlier this month. But Howard told board members this week that the 2018 through 2030 bus replacement plan had to be amended before the state would allow the additional appropriation. The school board passed a resolution Monday to accept the amended plan.
Plymouth School Board Adopts 2019 Budget
The Plymouth Community School Corporation’s 2019 budget was officially adopted by the school board Tuesday. The total budget adds up to about $35 million.

The Plymouth Community School Corporation’s 2019 budget proposal drew no comments or concerns from the public Tuesday. Business Manager Kandi Tinkey reviewed the various parts of the budget, along with the capital projects and bus replacement plans, during a public hearing held by the school board.
Culver School Board Approves Purchase of Accessible Minibus
The Culver Community Schools Corporation is getting a new handicap-accessible minibus. On Monday, the school board approved a purchase agreement with Starcraft, at the recommendation of Superintendent Karen Shuman.
John Glenn School Board Approves Bus Donation Request
A retired bus in the John Glenn Community School Corporation fleet will be donated to the Triton Community School Corporation to assist in a worthy cause.
Transportation Director Cindy King explained to the school board that the area transportation directors would like to host a mock disaster. The school bus would be used for emergency responder training with area fire, police and EMS personnel as well as area drivers and students. The trainees would have a hands-on training experience and be better prepared if an incident with a school bus would happen.
