Plymouth School Board Offers Stipend for AP and Dual Credit Teachers

Plymouth School CorpThe Plymouth School Board has decided to incentivize some of its teachers to obtain greater levels of education.

Two years ago, the Indiana General Assembly devised rules allowing salary increases for teachers teaching AP and Dual Credit courses. The catch is the teacher overseeing the dual credit courses must possess a Master’s Degree and undergo 18 hours of graduate coursework in that subject by 2020 to receive the stipend.

Plymouth Common Council Raises Sewer Rates

Plymouth IndianaThe Plymouth Common Council has agreed to increase sewer rates in the city.

During their Monday night meeting, board members considered an ordinance detailing the change on second and third reading. The City of Plymouth commissioned experts with financial firm Umbaugh and Associates in April of this year to conduct the study of sewer rates and ensure financial stability going forward.

Former Plymouth-based CEO Convicted on Multiple Charges

gavel-300x199Marshall County’s Prosecutor says he will be seeking the maximum sentence following a conviction this week of a former Plymouth business’ CEO.

Investigations started following the closure of Stone Creek Homes in Plymouth in May of 2012. According to information provided by the prosecutor’s office, the company was shuttered without warning to customers or employees.
