Plymouth Board of Works Closes Out Fall Street and Sidewalk Projects

The Plymouth Board of Works took action last week to close out the fall 2018 street and sidewalk projects. Board members approved a change order for the closeout documentation, after City Engineer Rick Gaul presented a summary of the cost under-runs and overruns. “Essentially, the amount of the change order is a minus $29,033.11, basically,” he said, “and it was all described on the next pages that we had out, if you wanted the details.”

Plymouth Board of Works Considers Waiving Drainage Plan Review Fee for Particular Project

Members of the Plymouth Board of Works considered a request pertaining to the new drainage plan review fees when they met last Monday.

City attorney Sean Surrisi provided some background about the request, explaining that Carl Stockberger apparently submitted his drainage plan after the new fees went into effect. However, since planning and coordination were occurring for many months before the new fees went into effect, Stockberger asked the board to consider waiving them. Continue reading

Annual Operation Report for Local Roads and Streets Considered by Plymouth City Council

The 2017 annual Operations Report for Local Roads and Streets was submitted to Plymouth City Council members Monday night.

Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt and City Engineer Rick Gaul completed the documents and submitted them to the council for consideration. Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver explained that this report has to be submitted annually since the city receives funding from the Indiana Department of Transportation. Continue reading

Plymouth City Council and Board of Public Works and Safety to Meet Tonight

A public hearing will be held over a waiver of non-compliance for tax abatement permitted to DAC Enterprises Inc. during tonight’s Plymouth City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m.

An update from the fee schedule subcommittee will be presented and reports on previous business will be entered by Mayor Mark Senter and City Attorney Sean Surrisi. City council members will consider a resolution to approve an application from Marshall Clevenger for a commercial revitalization rebate program grant. Continue reading

Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Members Consider Request to Work in Right-of-Way

City Engineer Rick Gaul approached the Plymouth Board of Works members with a request related to working in the right-of-way when they met last Monday.

Gaul explained that the request was submitted from United Telephone, or CenturyLink Services. According to Gaul, the company asked to run an underground communications line off of Evergreen Drive, perpendicular to the right-of-way, in order to bring services to a property at 212 Eastwood Estates. Plymouth BOW Awards Spring Project Bids

Bid awards for the spring surface treatment, street and sidewalk projects were considered during Monday night’s Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

City Engineer Rick Gaul informed the BOW members that the bid for the spring surface treatment project that was submitted by Pavement Solutions initially came in over budget at $240,788.98.

He said in order to bring down the cost, the proposed streets in the project were assessed. Gaul said after consulting with Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt and Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver about the specifics, he felt the work on Randolph Street could wait while the work on Webster Avenue was established as the highest priority.
