Retired Officer Receives Firearm Following Plymouth Ordinance Amendment

Ted Brown has been reunited with his service weapon.

He’s the Plymouth Police officer who retired after more than 20 years on the force to become Director of School Safety with the Plymouth School Corporation. As part of his retirement, Police Chief Dave Bacon recommended to the Plymouth Board of Works that Brown’s service weapon be deemed surplus property and gifted to him.

Culver Considers Changes to Lawn Care Ordinance…

The Culver Town Council could soon be considering revisions to its ordinance dealing with lawn care with the help of Legacy Landscape MI services.

Culver Introduces Water Rate Ordinance

The Town of Culver is now turning its attention to adopting an amended water rate ordinance.

During a special meeting Tuesday night, the Culver Town Council introduced the language – which will likely be approved in mid-June. Culver is working to upgrade its water treatment facility, the costs of which call for an increase in water rates.

Mooney’s Ice Cream Parlor Hopes for Quick Resolution on Sign Dispute

A Plymouth business says they want a reasonable amount of time to replace their sign.

Mooney’s Ice Cream Parlor was assessed a fine of $150 by the City of Plymouth for failing to comply with the town’s signage ordinance. The company did not receive a permit for constructing their current sign in the 300 block of East Jefferson Street – something that has been described by the business as a miscommunication.

Plymouth BZA Calls Special Meeting for Mooney’s Issue

Amid an ongoing discussion over an improperly placed sign, some additional discussion may soon take place.

Mooney’s Ice Cream Parlor, located in the 300 block of East Jefferson Street, was assessed a $150 fine for failing to receive a permit prior to constructing their sign and then failing to remove the sign when instructed to do so by the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals.
