Plymouth Redevelopment Commission Blesses MCEDC Proposed Project

A proposed building project could entice a manufacturing facility to set up operations in Plymouth.

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) Executive Director and CEO Jerry Chavez told the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission Monday night that preliminary plans are set in motion to build a manufacturing center. Chavez said the building would be similar to the facility now occupied by Pretzels, Inc. The structure would be move-in ready for any company to set up their business to best suit the company’s needs.

Culver Business Plans Expansion

The Culver City Council acted upon a request to declare an area as an economic revitalization area.

The owner of LK Wood Products and Marshall County Economic Development Corporation Director Jerry Chavez gave the council members an idea about an expansion project at the facility on Mill Street. The company is seeking a tax abatement to invest millions of dollars in expanding the technology at the plant. More jobs will be created as a result of the upgrade in equipment.

Pretzels Inc. is a step closer to getting a tax abatement from the City of Plymouth. The Common Council Monday passed a resolution Monday to place the planned facility within an Economic Revitalization Area.
