South Gateway Developer to Present Plan During Public Forum this Evening

news-2Plymouth residents will have the chance to learn more about the South Gateway apartment project during a public forum this evening. Architect and developer Scott Sivan will give a presentation on the so-called residential resurgence project at 5:30 p.m. in the old NIPSCO building at the corner of Michigan and LaPorte Streets.

The $11.5 million project calls for the construction of a 60-unit apartment complex on the south bank of the Yellow River, east of Michigan Street. Sivan’s firm recently developed a similar multi-story apartment project in Downtown Mishawaka. Plymouth’s South Gateway project will be funded in part by $1.4 million from the Regional Cities Initiative, as well as $1.5 million appropriated by the city.

Other scheduled presenters during tonight’s meeting include Hoosier Tire President and Regional Development Authority member John DeSalle, Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez and Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi.
