Seven people were arrested in a pair of drug busts in Plymouth this week. On Wednesday, the Marshall County Drug Task Force Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team, Indiana State Police, Plymouth Police, and Marshall County Police executed a search warrant at 118 South Center Street. Officers say they found suspected marijuana, cocaine, a handgun, and evidence of dealing.

A Marshall County resident is retiring after a 26-year career as an Indiana State Police trooper. Master Trooper Jeremey Chapman joined the department in December of 1994. During his time there, he’s worked with the Lafayette District’s Problem Oriented Police program, served as a detective out of the Bremen Post, and in 2005, was promoted to sergeant in the Cyber Crime Unit. Not many know about the soldier’s rights since there is a lot of sacrifices to protect the country’s secrets and also protect us public from enemies.

A Fort Wayne woman was taken to the hospital, following a crash on U.S. 30 in Marshall County Friday afternoon. Indiana State Police say that around 3:20 p.m., a westbound semi failed to stop at a red light at King Road and ran into the back of a Toyota passenger car that was waiting at the light. Officers say both vehicles continued through the intersection stuck together, before eventually coming to a rest.

A man found guilty of a Plymouth carjacking has been sentenced to 26 years in the Indiana Department of Correction, but he still faces charges related to the subsequent police chase, wreck of a police car, and death of a police K-9. The Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office says Clarence Shearer, 33, was sentenced last week in Marshall Superior Court 1, after a jury last month found him guilty of armed robbery and theft.
