Argos Requests Assistance While Fiber Optic Upgrades Are Completed

Jim Burroughs is the Utility, Park, and Street Superintendent for the Town. He says the community in the southern portion of Marshall County has been working to address a dead space for high-speed internet connectivity.

Education Funding Efforts Ramp Up in Argos

educationAn Argos-based group is hoping to influence public opinion to support a tax increase for local schools this May.

The Taxpayers for Argos Schools and Kids (TASK) group plans several public events to help raise awareness of the budget difficulties faced by the Argos Community School Corporation. Argos is no different than many other school corporations, where reductions in student population translate to a reduction in funding.

Argos to Hold Tie-Breaker Vote Following Alleged Secret Ballot Violation

vote2The Town of Argos plans to re-do a vote taken last month to determine who fills a vacancy on its Town Council.

During their November 18th meeting, the Argos Town Council took a vote to break a tie between incumbent Dustin Johnson (D) and Randy Snead (R) following the General Municipal Election. The Marshall County Clerk’s office notified the town of the need to break the tie after certifying that one had indeed taken place.

Argos Man Sentenced to a Decade in Indiana Department of Correction

Meth-300x168In Marshall Superior Court on Wednesday, 22-year-old Caleb Zachary Hollet of Argos was sentenced to a total of 10 years imprisonment at the Indiana Department of Correction for dealing methamphetamine as a Class B Felony and conspiracy to deal in methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony. Judge Robert O. Bowen approved an agreement reached between Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Tami Napier and defense attorney Joseph Simanski of Plymouth. Continue reading
