Minor flooding of the Tippecanoe River near Ora is expected to occur over the weekend. A flood warning remains in effect until late Sunday night. As of 8 p.m. Wednesday the river was holding steady at 11.7 feet. That’s just below the 12 foot flood stage in that area. Continue reading

Culver Council Says Goodbyes to Retiring Members
Tuesday night marked the final meeting of their term for two members of the Culver Town Council.

Members of the library’s fundraising arm, Friends of the Library, have been accepting donations to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator. The equipment is used as a means to restart a proper heart rhythm during cardiac arrest.
Third Suspect Arrested in Connection With Lowe’s Theft
Investigators with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department have arrested a third suspect in the Dec. 26th theft of power tools and other items from the Plymouth Lowe’s store. Employees there called 911 following the incident and advised the suspects left in a white Ford SUV. Continue reading

Golf Cart Permit Fee Changes Cause Problems for Culver Town Council
An ordinance that specifies the use of golf carts within Culver’s Town Limits ran into a few problems, Tuesday night.
The matter was approved on first reading earlier this month. Golf carts are a common method of transportation during the warmer months in the lake community. The Town already has an ordinance in place regulating their use, but Town Administration has proposed changes to the way they’re used in Town and the fees associated with the proper permits.

Argos Re-Votes Following Alleged Open Door Violation
The Town of Argos has corrected an error in the election of one of its Town Council members.
Earlier this year, the Argos Town Council was required to break a tie for one of its three available Town Council seats. The tie for the final available seat was certified after Election Day by the Marshall County Election Board.
