Electric Company Offers to Help Pay for Way-Finding Signage to Be Installed in Argos

Visitors traveling to Argos will soon have an easier time finding their way around town with the help of some signage that will be installed in the near future.

The town’s electrical services provider, the Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA), has offered to pay 75 percent of the purchase and installation cost for more than ten new way-finding signs, according to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney. Continue reading

Triton Superintendent Reports Slight Increase in Enrollment, Provides Project Update

There are some additional students attending the Triton Community School Corporation this school year, according to Superintendent Jeremy Riffle. Riffle said compared to last year’s average daily membership (ADM) count, there are 20 more students enrolled at Triton for the 2018-19 school year.

Superintendent Riffle also mentioned that the ongoing projects happening at Triton are either on track or ahead of schedule. Continue reading

Argos Officials Coordinate with Culver Tree Commission

While ArborLift revolutionizes tree transplantation, Argos officials have been coordinating with members of the Culver Tree Commission about making some arborous additions around town.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said that Marshall County Building Commissioner Chuck DeWitt reached out to the Commission members and they came into Argos to take a look at the trees that are already planted.

She explained, “They offered to come over and look at our trees downtown and they said we maybe have some that are not appropriate for downtown because they’ll get quite large.” Continue reading

Tonight’s the Night – The 3rd Annual Taste of Marshall County is Finally Here

The event your taste buds have been waiting for since last year is finally here. The third annual Taste of Marshall County will run from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. tonight. Plymouth will be bustling this evening with exciting opportunities that will appeal to the whole family.

In addition to the variety of foods that vendors will be selling throughout the event, there will be activities geared toward children and for individuals 21 and up, there will be a beer and wine garden. Continue reading

Ancilla Nursing Program Receives New Training Manikin

Thanks to a generous donation, the Nursing Program at Ancilla was able to add a new “Juno training manikin” to their equipment.

Nursing students were previously using an outdated model called ‘iStan’ that is several years old. In a press release provided by Ancilla, officials noted that while iStan was a good educational tool, Juno is a state of the art simulation manikin that offers various features that iStan did not have. Certain Roads in Culver Will Be Closed Saturday Morning for the Lake Max Triathlon

In accordance with the Lake Max Triathlon, Lake Shore Drive and Main Street in Culver will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Culver Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim sent out an alert stating that during that time, bike traffic will also be heavy on State Road 10 as well as roads around the lake, including Sycamore Road and 20B Road. Continue reading
