Argos EMS Director Announces Plans for Resignation

Argos officials will be starting the search for a new EMS Director following a resignation announcement during Wednesday’s town council meeting.

Argos EMS Director Richie Miller announced his plans for resignation. He reportedly shared that he hopes to be able to leave the position permanently in December.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney noted that this is the first time in many years that officials are tasked with replacing a director. A workshop is planned for Thursday, August 30th in order to discuss the responsibilities of the position and to determine how to advertise for the opening.

Town Council members, Health Director Dr. John Haste and Miller will be consulting about the matter during the workshop and coordination will continue over the next few months.

In the meantime, any EMTs who are interested in serving as the director are free to submit a letter of interest to the Town Clerk’s Office, located at 201 West Walnut Street. However, applicants won’t be officially considered until officials settle on a more concrete idea of what requirements will be necessary for the Director’s position.
