An intergovernmental agreement was approved by several Marshall County government entities this week ahead of the Regional Stellar Communities Designation application presentation.
The Marshall County Council, Plymouth City Council, Culver Town Council and Bremen Town Council, Bourbon Town Council members approved that document this week. Argos Town Council and Marshall County Commission members signed the document last week with Lapaz Town Council officials recently signing a similar document.
Each entity involved will have two representatives, the president and clerk-treasurer from each town and city council, who will sit on the board to oversee the administrative functions of the Marshall County Crossroads Stellar Communities Initiative.
County Auditor Julie Fox will serve as the recording secretary of the board and manage the flow of any Stellar funds to the participating communities as necessary.
Each entity has projects included in the Marshall County Crossroads Stellar Initiative plan that will be presented on Nov. 15 to officials from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs. Only 90 minutes is allowed for the presentation with at least 20 minutes allowed for comments and questions from OCRA representatives. Marshall County became a finalist for the Regional Stellar Communities Designation earlier this year. The county will compete against four other regional competitors for the designation. The designee will be announced in November.
