Marshall County Council Approves 2017 Budget

budget-2The Marshall County Council voted this week to approve the county’s updated 2017 budget. The approval came after the council made several cuts to the budget last month, resulting in a reduction of over $1 million from initial proposals. Some of those cuts included the removal of new vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department, as well as some newly-proposed staff positions. Drone Aids in River Search

news-3A pair of juveniles reported missing on the Tippecanoe River on Saturday are safe, according to officials with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. The youngsters became separated from their parents between State Road 19 and the Tippecanoe River around 6:30 Saturday evening.

Bremen Man Faces Felony Weapons Charge

A Bremen man faces drug and weapons charges following a Saturday afternoon altercation. Deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a fight in the 300 block of 4th Road in Bremen at 2:22 p.m., according to the incident report. After the fight, 46-year-old John A. Slabaugh reportedly fired two shots from a 40 caliber handgun at  the other person. Continue reading
