Plymouth Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Plymouth man was arrested on drug charges on Monday after a short pursuit with police.

A Plymouth City Police Department officer saw Johnny Paul Whitt, Jr., 46, driving his motorcycle in the area of Skylane Drive and Michigan Street. Police say Whitt had an active warrant for his arrest and he does not have a motorcycle license.

The officer attempted a traffic stop and Whitt reportedly fled. Whitt drove his motorcycle through the yards at the Skylane apartments and crashed into a pole, according to police. He then allegedly ran on foot. He was apprehended by the officer in the Burger King parking lot.

Police say Whitt was in possession of 20 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and $4,000 in cash.

Whitt was booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. He is being held on a $5,000 bond.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
