The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members learned this week that paperwork to narrow down the guaranteed maximum price for the Aquatics Center is being finalized. The price for the Early Childhood Learning Center is already determined. The price has been agreed upon to properly close out the paperwork concerning the new market tax credits paperwork.

Public Input Requested on Proposed U.S. 30 Freeway Project

Public input is requested regarding the proposed U.S. 30 freeway project that would upgrade the highway to freeway standards between Valparaiso and Fort Wayne.

Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter and Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez are putting together a proposal for the state and public opinion is needed to include in the collection of data.

Plymouth City Council to Continue Public Hearing on Tax Abatement

The Plymouth City Council members heard public comment during a hearing Monday night about the proposed six-year property tax abatement for the River Gate South, LLC housing project.

Steve Guriel, who owns several rental properties, asked if any other housing units in Plymouth were granted tax abatements. City Attorney Sean Surrisi noted that this is the first time in the history of the city where this type of residential tax abatement was requested.

Plymouth City Council Considers Property as an Economic Revitalization, Target Area

The Plymouth City Council members heard a request from Developer Scott Sivan to create the property for the housing development River Gate South as an Economic Development Target Area and Economic Revitalization Area.

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez said this is the first step in a process for the ultimate request for a real property tax abatement for the project.

Groundbreaking Scheduled for Manufacturing Center in Argos

A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 7 for the construction of a 50,000 square foot manufacturing center in Argos.

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez says the building will be built within Argos’ 75 acre industrial park. The building will be expandable up to 300,000 square feet and will have access to high speed fiber.

Culver Town Council Considers Resolution for Residential Tax Abatement

The Culver Town Council members conducted a public hearing Tuesday night concerning a resolution to deem the Sand Hill Farms property an economic target area and an economic revitalization area per state statute for purposes of residential tax abatement. The abatement would be 100 percent for 10 years.

The Sand Hill Farms property will be home to a workforce development housing project offering 24-unit apartments.
