Plymouth City Council Holds Public Hearing on Tax Abatement Request

The Plymouth City Council members held a public hearing Monday night concerning a tax abatement request for Oasis Lifestyle, LLC.

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez explained that this tax phase-in would be for about seven years which would give the business at 1400 Pidco Drive a tax break of about 50 percent during that time.

In a previous meeting, company President Mark Naylor told members that the company recently added 22,500 square feet of warehouse space and four additional dock doors along with 7,000 square feet of infill between two existing buildings for production capacity.

No public comment was given during the public hearing.

The city council members voted unanimously to approve a resolution to adopt the company’s property as an Economic Revitalization Area for purposes of real property and personal property tax abatement.
