Culver Town Council President Assists with Regional Stellar Effort

Culver Town Council President Ginny Bess Munroe shared with the town council members this week that she worked with Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez in the county’s application for the regional Stellar Communities Designation Program.

The committee plans to meet with Ball State representatives to go over survey results on information about the communities on May 31, but Munroe said the local stellar committee plans on meeting next week to get started on planning.

“The first stellar committee meeting will be Tuesday night,” reported Munroe. “They would love to have two representatives from each town. They want all of the town to start thinking about who they want to send as representatives. That will help create the stellar team. There will also be county representation from county-wide organizations that will possibly be part of the stellar plan.”

The Tuesday night steering committee meeting will be for planning purposes while a more public gathering is planned for May 31.

Presentations will be made to OCRA and state officials in September while the two designees will be announced sometime in December.
