City of Plymouth and WorkOne Team Up to Host End-of-Year Job Fair

Marshall County individuals currently seeking employment or hoping to secure a new occupation should attend the local job fair on Thursday, December 7th.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church on Michigan Street.

WorkOne and the City of Plymouth are teaming up to host this end-of-the-year opportunity which will feature a variety of representatives from local businesses. These employers are eager to show citizens what they have to offer to prospective employees. Marshall County Approves Tax Abatement for Bourbon Company

A Bourbon-based business is now on its way to creating five new full-time jobs in Marshall County.

The County Council held a special meeting earlier this week to consider abating property taxes for Faulker Fabricating. The company has been in the Marshall County area for the past 25 years and says that property tax relief over the next 10 years will lead to job creation.

DNR Seeks Lifeguards At State Park Facilities

Those looking to qualify for a summer job, and who may want to get bronzed in the process, can now retrieve a bit of information through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The DNR says it’s taking applications for summer lifeguard positions. Tests are required for first-year lifeguards at State Park facilities. Applicants who have already been lifeguards at more than 10 locations around the state are exempt from taking the test.

Minimum Wage Proposal Invites Local Business Input

Senate Bill 41 looks to increase Indiana’s minimum wage from its current rate of $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour. If signed into law, the increase would put Indiana in line with other states implementing similar pieces of legislation.

CNA Classes Upcoming at Ancilla College

A new semester at area schools is bringing another opportunity to meet qualifications to become a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ancilla College.

Ancilla is offering the CNA courses beginning February 2nd, but spots are still available for those interested. CNA’s have opportunities to work in long-term care, in home, hospitals, and doctors’ office facilities in the workforce.
