Students attending Culver Community Schools will return on August 4th, Plymouth students go back the next day on the 5th and Bremen students have their first day the following week on August 13th.

Culver Looks to Revamp Fees, Gain Additional Information on Flouride

An item tabled for several weeks will come back for additional comments during tonight’s Culver Town Council meeting.

Prior to the regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 EDT, the Town Council will hold a work session to discuss changes to its permitting process. The fees being charged were requested to be changed due to Culver reliance on Marshall County for certain inspections.

Culver Considers Changes to Lawn Care Ordinance…

The Culver Town Council could soon be considering revisions to its ordinance dealing with lawn care with the help of Legacy Landscape MI services.

At their previous meeting, the Town Council had an exchange of words with a property owner over an alleged ordinance violation. The homeowner’s grass was considered too long to be in compliance.

Marshall County Economic Development Continues Communication With Municipal Government

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation was making the rounds at City Council meetings this week.

The organization looks to both attract and retain companies in the Marshall County area. Executive Director Jerry Chavez appeared before the Plymouth Common Council and the Culver Town Council to review what his organization has been working to accomplish.

Culver Considers Reforming Permit Inspection Fees

Negotiations are still taking place, but the Town of Culver may be changing the way they charge fees for building permits.

Culver currently charges a $50 fee for any permit that requires an inspection. Marshall County, however, appears to be unhappy with the way that fee is structured. The Town pays Marshall County about $2,500 per year in the fees they collect for inspections.
