The Town of Culver has agreed to sign a contract with Marshall County to provide dispatch services to the community.
It was decided earlier this year that Marshall County would share the cost burden with its local communities and Townships given the cost of new equipment. A board has been formed to oversee the centralized dispatch service and determine its usage and cost sharing methods.
Marshall County’s rural areas will continue receiving dispatch assistance past January 1st.
The Plymouth Board of Works will meet Monday night to consider bids related to ongoing projects within the community.
The Culver School Board has signed on to a partnership between the the school corporation and the Town of Culver, in an effort to reduce costs and share resources. Town and school officials have been working for the past few months on an intergovernmental agreement. Continue reading

The bid to complete work for Plymouth’s 2016 Street and Sidewalk Projects was awarded on Monday.
The Plymouth Board of Works considered the recommendation from Street Department Superintendent Jim Marquardt. He says Walsh and Kelly, asphalt contractors out of Griffith, Indiana, submitted the low bid for the project of $349-thousand.

The Plymouth School Board will consider extending administrator contracts during their meeting, tonight.
A bit of extra consideration has led the Marshall County Commissioners to approve an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Plymouth.
The contract was tabled at the Commissioner’s previous meeting. Under the agreement, Plymouth financially compensates the County for the use of their Planning and Zoning services.

During Tuesday night’s meeting, school board members considered the agreement and some of its changes. The JESSE cooperative includes a contract that is approved by participating school corporations on an annual basis.

During Monday morning’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting, an E911 contract was reviewed. The county has been working with CenturyLink on a 24 month contract to help provide infrastructure for E911 services.
