Bourbon Town Council Updated on Properties Slated for Demolition

BOURBON — Town of Bourbon Attorney Alex Hoover updated the Bourbon Town Council that two properties will be reviewed in Circuit Court by Judge Curtis Palmer on January 19th for possible demolition. Those two properties are located at 408 E. Liberty St. and 201 W. Quad St. Hoover informed the Council that neither property was in compliance as of the meeting in December. Hoover advised both Dale Jackson Jr. and Christopher Konkle that they were free to reach out to Chuck DeWitt on any compliance updates prior to the final hearing in January.

Bourbon Town Council Approves Contract Amendment

The Bourbon Town Council approved an amendment last week with the Wessler Engineering contract which was a reduction in fees in the amount of $4,500. Those funds would have been fees accrued if the town had pursued the additional funding from Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) for an upcoming water improvement project. The council previously voted to remain with State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan funding which nullified the need for the extra fees.

Bourbon Town Council approves SRF for Water Improvement Project

The Bourbon Town Council held a public hearing regarding funding the Water Improvement Project. The purpose of the hearing was to discuss applying for an Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Grant to provide $700,000 in additional funding for the $5.3 M project. There were no public comments made during the public hearing.
