Community Crossings Matching Grant Projects to Start Soon in Bourbon

Community Crossings Matching Grant road work will be starting soon in the Town of Bourbon.

Bourbon Utility and Street Superintendent Roger Terry told the Bourbon Town Council members recently that the town has been prioritized ahead of two other towns by E&B Paving to accommodate the return of students to Triton schools on August 10 as the work will be conducted on the two main roads leading to the school.

The entire schedule includes pavement overlay on Sunset Drive from State Road 331 to Washington Street, Washington Street from Park Avenue to Jefferson Street, and Jefferson Street from Washington Street to Harris Street.  Several streets will be resurfaced including Thayer Street from Sunset Drive to Liberty Avenue, Thompson Street from North Street to Park Avenue, East Liberty Avenue from Thompson Street to State Road 331, and East Liberty Avenue from North Harris Street to Triton Drive. Work on Thompson Street and East Liberty Avenue will involve new sidewalks.

Additionally, the council gave Terry the approval to move forward with a grant application for the second round of Community Crossings Matching Grant funds for the year which will require a 25 percent match.
