Roofing Worker Dies After Falling through Skylight at American Containers
A roofing worker is dead, following an accident at American Containers in Plymouth Wednesday afternoon. Oscar Gallardo Zarate, 46, of Muncie, was tarring the roof of the building, according to Marshall County Coroner John Grolich. Grolich says Gallardo Zarate was apparently walking backwards while mopping the tar, when he stepped on a skylight and fell through to the ground.
Plymouth School Superintendent Reports Good Progress on New Lincoln Junior High School
The construction of Plymouth’s new Lincoln Junior High School building remains on-schedule. Superintendent Andy Hartley told the school board Monday that the structural walls of the gym were in place and work was about to start on the roof. Structural walls for the future locker rooms are also up. At the academic wing, crews have been pouring footings and the cement slab.

A Plymouth man who reportedly gave police a false name during a traffic stop ended up being arrested for possession of cocaine Saturday night. Plymouth Police say they pulled over a vehicle driven by Roberto L. Fonseca, 26, shortly after 8:00 p.m., near the intersection of Harrison and Walnut streets.

Marshall County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of people accused of stealing a camouflage ground blind used for hunting. A resident in the 14,000 block of Nutmeg Road reported the theft Tuesday. Police believe two men, possibly accompanied by a third person, went onto the property and took the equipment.
