Roofing Worker Dies After Falling through Skylight at American Containers

A roofing worker is dead, following an accident at American Containers in Plymouth Wednesday afternoon. Oscar Gallardo Zarate, 46, of Muncie, was tarring the roof of the building, according to Marshall County Coroner John Grolich. Grolich says Gallardo Zarate was apparently walking backwards while mopping the tar, when he stepped on a skylight and fell through to the ground.

The cause of death has been determined as significant blunt force trauma to the head. Grolich says an autopsy was scheduled for Thursday. He says Gallardo Zarate was working for Five Star Commercial Roofing when the accident occurred.
