Employee Handbook Updates Approved by Plymouth School Board

The Plymouth School Board approved some updates to the employee handbook Monday. Superintendent Andy Hartley explained that school corporations now have to name compliance officers who are responsible for enforcing the employee policies.

The update identifies the compliance officers as Assistant Superintendent Jill VanDriessche and Director of Quality Programs Brooke Busse. However, employees who think they’ve been the victims of prohibited conduct are also allowed to discuss their concerns with their school principal or the superintendent.

Hartley said another update reminds staff of their duty to immediately report any suspected instances of child abuse and neglect to the Department of Child Services. Information on Medicare prescription plans from the school corporation’s insurance cooperative was also added.
