Tri-Kappa’s Promenade to Prom Event is This Saturday

Plymouth Tri Kappa’s annual Promenade to Prom event will be held tomorrow from 9 a.m. until noon at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church.

Tri-Kappa is a women’s philanthropic organization that has chapters throughout the state of Indiana. Every year, the Plymouth chapter holds this event in order to help local young ladies find free and affordable dresses for prom. Continue reading

Marshall County Recycle Depot Accepting Some Flood-Damaged Items

Generally, Chemical Waste Disposal requires a level of care and attention beyond what is usually required needed when disposing of normal waste.Hence,the Marshall County Recycle Depot is the county’s headquarters for recycling and household chemical and hazardous waste disposal. Sometimes, EZ Staten Island Junk Removal is hired for such waste disposals. Thursday Update from Marshall County Emergency Management Agency

The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency has announced that the “Warning” level travel advisory that was implemented yesterday morning has been terminated and a “Watch” level travel advisory has been put in place.

The City of Plymouth has implemented an Executive Order for a “Watch” level travel advisory as well. The Marshall County Building and Courthouses are now open. Continue reading

Bremen School Board Approves 2018-2019 Calendar

When Bremen School Board members met on Monday, they approved a calendar for the 2018-2019 school year.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White explained that he provided the members with three options and they selected the option most similar to this year’s school calendar.

Dr. White said they will be starting a little sooner than some other local school corporations and shared some of the factors that influenced the decision to begin earlier. Continue reading

Culver Community Schools to Implement E-Learning Days in 2018-2019 School Year

Culver Community School students will be participating in e-Learning in next school year.

Superintendent Karen Shuman said that when school board members met on Monday, they approved the calendar for the 2018-2019 school year.

Shuman explained that the calendar has three E-Learning days built in, to allow students and teachers to get familiarized with the system. Continue reading

Bourbon Town Council Approves Bid for Community Crossings Projects

The certified bid tabulation for Bourbon’s Community Crossings Grant was presented at last Tuesday’s town council meeting.

Joshua Padgett from the architecture and engineering firm Jones, Petrie, Rafinksi presented four bids to council members. The bids came from the companies Phend & Brown Inc, E&B Paving, Rieth-Riley Construction and Niblock Excavating. Continue reading

Triton School Board Discusses Technology Updates

Various technology updates were discussed during the Triton School Board meeting last week.

Members considered a quote for anti-virus software for the school corporation when they met on Monday. They unanimously approved a $28,000 quote from the company Barkly.

Technology Director Ted Fisher also informed the board that sixth grade students will soon be receiving new Google Chrome Books. Continue reading

Bourbon Town Council Approves Proposal for Development Project on Center Street

Bourbon Town Council members received a project proposal from architect Brent Martin and Habitat for Humanity Representatives Dean Byers and David Dinius when they met on Tuesday.

Draft minutes indicate that the men spoke with the council members about Project H.O.M.E, which is an acronym where each letter stands for Housing, Opportunities, Medical and Education. They said they’ve been looking into that organization, as well as an Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority(IHCDA) grant to potentially build some homes on a Center Street property owned by the town.
