Warning Level Travel Advisory In Effect For All of Marshall County

According to Marshall County Emergency Management representatives, a Warning Level Travel advisory has been implemented for the entire county due to roads that have been washed out by the heavy rain and flooding.

As a result, the Marshall County Courthouse and County Building are closed today.

A “Warning” level travel advisory is the highest level of local travel restriction and it means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. The alert only applies to roads in the unincorporated areas of the county. Highways, such as U.S. 30 and U.S. 31 and streets located within city and town limits are NOT included in the travel restriction.

Emergency Management reps say that during a “Warning” Level travel advisory, individuals should refrain from all travel, comply with necessary emergency measures, obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers and cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans.

They ask that drivers avoid areas where flood waters are present. They also instruct motorists to refrain from moving or driving around barricades on roads, as they are closed for your safety.
