Old U.S. 31 Won’t be Renamed
Old U.S. 31 south of U.S. 6 will not be renamed.
The issue came up during last week’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting. Commissioner Kurt Garner commented that a homeowner on that stretch of road thought of renaming it State Road 931 rather than Michigan Road. Garner said the resident thought that it might entice people to drive on the road knowing that it’s a state road and provide more traffic.
Plymouth BOW, City Council to Meet Tonight
The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will meet tonight where two more sidewalk requests will be brought before the board. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt previously said the department may not be able to take on any more projects this year, but the board will review the requests.
