Marshall County Commissioners Agree to Work with Town of Argos in Attempt to Extinguish Lien

Marshall County and the Town of Argos have apparently been named in a lien filed by the House of Graber and both entities have agreed to work together to eliminate it.

The commissioners were notified of the issue during their October 4 meeting where County Attorney Jim Clevenger said Paul Graber recorded a lien of about $31 million against the Marshall County Jail and the Town of Argos Emergency Services Building.  Clevenger said the action reportedly stemmed from an arrest by the Argos Police Department.

Argos Town Attorney Derek Jones held a conversation with the Argos Town Council during their meeting Wednesday, October 6 where he recommended working with County Attorney Clevenger to file a suit in court against Graber that would extinguish the lien which he called “invalid” and allow a judgment where court fees are recovered.

The Town Council members unanimously approved a motion to work with the county in this case.

The Marshall County Commissioners approved a similar motion Monday morning where they unanimously agreed to work with the Town of Argos to take litigation steps to extinguish the lien and pursue damages for attorney fees and court costs.
