Culver Town Council Approves Additional Work at South Davis and Main Streets

Some additional work will occur as part of the storm sewer installation project on South Davis Street and South Main Street in Culver.

Utility Superintendent Bob Porter asked the council to consider a change order in the project to include the installation of new curbs and sidewalks throughout the project.

Originally, the plan was to repair bits and pieces of sidewalk as funding allowed, but Porter explained that the subcontractor damaged more pieces of sidewalk than what was listed in the project to be replaced.

Porter said he asked E&B Paving for a quote and it would be $16,560 to replace all of the curbs and sidewalks in that area instead of bits and pieces.

He talked with Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim about funding and they determined there would be enough funding in the budget to cover that cost.

The council members approved the request.

Town Manager Jonathan Leist said the pipes are installed and paving at South Davis Street and South Main Street is expected to occur sometime this week.  The project is expected to be substantially complete by Friday, November 13.
