First Phase of Sign Installation at Triton Complete, More to Come

The Triton School Board got a sneak peek at some of the new signage that’s been installed when members met Monday night.

Members approved this sign installation at their March meeting. The project was awarded to Descon, Inc at a cost of $7,000.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said the sign installation is not entirely complete but the first phase of the project has been finished up.

Triton School Board Transfers Money from Transportation to Rainy Day Fund

Triton School Board members approved a transfer of funds when they met for their final meeting of the year last week.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle explained that the board members transferred some money from the transportation fund into the rainy day fund. The transfer was for the maximum amount that was permitted which ended up being $68,435. Continue reading

Triton School Board Approves 2019-2020 School Calendar

Triton School Board members approved the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year when they met last Tuesday.

Orientation day will be held on Tuesday, August 6th. That will also be the first official day for teachers. The first day for students will be the following day on Wednesday, August 7th.

School officials note that early dismissal will take place every Friday, with the Elementary School releasing students at 2:35 p.m. and the Jr./Sr. High School dismissing at 2:45 p.m. Continue reading

Triton School Board Officially Approves New Transportation Director

A Triton School Corporation bus driver was recently promoted to the position of transportation director.

When Triton School Board members met last Tuesday they officially accepted Laura Baker’s resignation from the position of bus driver and approved her as the new transportation director. She was also approved for the position of corporation secretary. Continue reading

Triton Students Assist Marshall County’s Children in Foster Care With “Duffles for Kids” Event

Triton Superintendent Jeremy Riffle took some time during this week’s school board meeting to recognize the altruistic efforts of a group of students and staff members.

Triton School Board Bourbon Township Representative Steps Down from Position

After 10 years of dedicated service to the Triton School Board, Amy Middaugh will be stepping down from her position as the Bourbon Township representative.

According to Superintendent Jeremy Riffle, two individuals applied for the open position. However, after looking into the two candidates, school officials discovered that one of the applicants did not meet the requirement of residing in Bourbon Township. Continue reading

Triton School Board Receives Presentation Over the National FFA Convention

Students in the Triton FFA provided school board members with a presentation last week about their trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

According to Superintendent Jeremy Riffle, the FFA students joined 60,000 other attendees this year and they had the chance to see a few famous faces while they attended the multi-day event in October. Continue reading

Your Child Has a Chance to be One of the First Students to Attend Triton’s Preschool Program!

Local parents still have a chance to register for the all-day preschool program being offered at Triton Elementary School this coming school year.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle noted that there was a nice turn out at the Parent Information night that was held at the end of June. He explained, “We did have the informational night and there were probably 30 parents in attendance. So by the time they lef,t there were six who were already registered.”

Riffle said the cap for the class is twenty students and ten children were registered as of Wednesday afternoon so interested parents need to act fast. Continue reading
