John Glenn School Board Considers Superintendent’s Contract

The John Glenn School Board considered the superintendent’s contract retroactive to July 1, 2017. The contract is valid through June 30, 2019.

The contract included a two percent increase as that is in line with increases approved for the staff at the school corporation. The base salary was advertised at $117,346 with a $5,000 annuity. The school corporation will pay all but $1 on a life insurance premium on a $110,000 term life insurance policy which is $171 a year. The corporation will also pay all but $1 of the Corporation Family Health/Dental/Optical Insurance plan until the superintendent reaches the age of 65. The cost will be $23,363 a year.

Public Hearing Held on Superintendent’s Contract

The Plymouth Community School Board held a public hearing on the proposed superintendent’s contract that will be effective July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020.

Board President Todd Samuelson noted the changes which include a little less than a $5,000 increase in the base salary to $120,000 and a $600 phone allowance. Superintendent Dan Tyree noted that the phone increase was not in the previous contract but thought that it should be added in the new superintendent’s contract. Life insurance will also increase to two times the base salary which in this case would be $240,000.

Public Hearing Set for Plymouth Superintendent’s Contract

A hearing is scheduled for tomorrow to hear public comment on the next superintendent’s contract at the Plymouth Community School Corporation.

The contract calls for an annual salary of $120,000 with an annual board contribution to group health/dental/vision insurance premium in the amount of $23,285. An annuity would come to $7,200 with life insurance of $374.40 a year. Gasoline allowance would be estimated at $3,500 with a $600 phone allowance.
