High-Speed Pursuit Results in Arrest of Culver Resident
A high-speed pursuit that began in Marshall County and ended in a usually heavily-traveled intersection in Knox resulted in the arrest of the driver.
Wanted Minnesota Residents Lead Police on Chase through Marshall County
Two Minnesota residents with active warrants reportedly led police on a chase through Marshall County Tuesday evening. It began when a Plymouth Police officer pulled over a car in the 2200 block of North Michigan Street at around 5:15. Police say the driver, Ace Blahoski, 31, of Miltona, Minnesota and the passenger, Jean Kelly, 33, of Willmar, Minnesota both had warrants out of Minnesota.
Ten Arrested in Warrant Sweep
Ten people were arrested in the early morning hours on Sunday in a year-long undercover investigation called Operation Orthodox conducted by the Knox City Police Department.
Officers from the Knox City Police Department were assisted by the Starke County Sheriff’s Department and the Knox, North Judson and Plymouth Police Departments in executing the arrest warrants.
Argos Man Arrested after Alleged Drunk Driving Accident
An Argos man was arrested late Monday after his alleged involvement in a two vehicle accident. For DUI related cases, DUI Attorney in Long Beach should be contacted immediately.
According to Marshall County police, dispatchers received a phone call about a two vehicle accident involving a semi and a silver passenger car on U.S. 6 and State Road 106 near Bremen. Police say the car sustained extensive damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.
Monterey Deaths Ruled Murder-Suicide
Friday’s deaths of a Monterey couple in their home have been ruled a murder-suicide. Starke County Coroner Dannie Hoffer says Clifford Foster, 53, shot his wife, Lynn, age 52, in the head with a pistol before turning a shotgun on himself.
Monterey Deaths Under Investigation with Sheriff’s Department
Detectives and officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the deaths of two Monterey residents.
According to Starke County Sheriff Bill Dulin, a caller notified police around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17 that there was a cause for concern when a co-worker did not check in for work that day. The responding officer arrived at the home and talked to a family member who told the officer that two people were deceased inside the residence. The responding officer entered victim’s residence at 8893 S. Elm Street in Monterey where two people were found dead.
The initial investigation revealed that Lynn Foster, 52, and Clifford Foster, 53, both of Monterey, were found with single gunshot wounds. The manner and cause of death will be determined by forensic autopsies scheduled for Monday, June 19.
Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technicians assisted to help gather evidence and process the scene. The Starke County Sheriff’s Department was also assisted by the Knox City Police Department, North Judson Police Department and the Starke County Coroner’s Office.
Seven Jailed Following Joint Highway Patrol Effort
Seven people were taken to jail, following a joint effort to improve the safety of area highways. For a four-hour period Monday, officers from the Marshall and Starke County Sheriff’s Departments, Plymouth Police Department, and Indiana State Police teamed up to patrol the U.S. 30 and U.S. 31 areas, according to the Plymouth Police Department.
