A public hearing was opened during Tuesday night’s Plymouth Redevelopment Commission meeting that would amend the U.S. 30/Pine Road Economic Development Plan to designate the Pretzels, Inc. expansion building an Air Allocation Area as its own allocation area. The amendment would also name Pretzels, Inc. a designated taxpayer.

The Plymouth City Council members opened a public hearing Monday night to take comments on a late filing of tax abatement compliance forms by Pretzels, Inc.
The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members will consider the approval of a substantial completion certificate on the water main extension project at W. Lake Avenue. The service was extended to accommodate the new construction of the Autumn Trace facility.
Plymouth City Council members reviewed the compliance of particular companies where tax abatements were granted when the CF-1 Forms for snack manufacturer Pretzels Inc. and the food product supplier Zentis were considered during Monday night’ city council meeting.
Zentis received their tax abatement in 2012 while Pretzels Inc. had an abatement granted in 2016. Continue reading
The Plymouth City Council members took action Monday night to consider two resolutions designating certain real estate within the city to be within an Economic Revitalization Area for purposes of property tax abatement.
The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members plan on opening bids for surface treatment spring projects and street and sidewalk projects when they meet tonight. The board members will also consider a conditional offer of employment for a paramedic position and a request to release partial retainage funds for Kokosing Industrial for work done on the wastewater treatment facility.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. tonight followed by the Plymouth City Council meeting.
Two Plymouth businesses are anticipating an expansion.
Representatives from Pretzels, Inc. and Weir Enterprises, LLC spoke to the Plymouth City Council members about their intentions to expand and create jobs.
Pretzels, Inc. in Plymouth opened its doors to city and county officials and other dignitaries for the grand opening celebration of its operation at 2910 Commerce Street on Tuesday morning.
Congresswoman Jackie Walorski joined in cutting the ribbon at the 45,000 square foot facility that is the home to 40 full-time workers. It will welcome 65 total jobs by the year 2020.
The new plant manufactures bulk pretzel products as well as peanut butter-filled pretzels which are produced exclusively at the Plymouth plant. Production began just five months after construction began.

Snack producer Pretzels, Inc. plans to move into the shell building on Commerce Street west of Plymouth early next year.
