Work on Marshall County’s newest manufacturing facility will get started today. Snack producer Pretzels, Inc. plans to move into the shell building on Commerce Street west of Plymouth early next year. Today the company is assembling 24 contractors, equipment manufacturers and business partners from across the country and locally at the new facility.

A major step toward their buildout of the new facility is the pouring of concrete to finish the 45,000 square foot floor. It will be done this week, according to Marshall County officials.

The Plymouth facility will replace the company’s Pennsylvania plant, which was destroyed by fire in June. Company officials say the “truly monumental effort” in Marshall County will allow them to return to production in record time.

Officials say the shell building will be transformed into a functional production facility by January with a buildout of over $6 million. It will be followed by an equipment and machinery installation of approximately $12 million, which will allow for equipment startup in February. Shipping to customers is expected to begin by March.

Pretzels, Inc. is headquartered in Bluffton, Ind. The family-owned business offers pretzels in over 900 varieties for store brands, private labels and its own Harvest Road products.
