Plymouth City Council Approves Resolutions for Future Tax Abatement

Two Plymouth businesses are anticipating an expansion.

Representatives from Pretzels, Inc. and Weir Enterprises, LLC spoke to the Plymouth City Council members about their intentions to expand and create jobs.

Pretzels, Inc. will be expanding to include another production line. The second production line will be designed to make the specialty filled pretzel product. The project also includes completing a second packaging room with different packaging capabilities. The estimated expansion cost is $9 million. Since opening in April 2017, they employ 70 people which is 30 more than originally anticipated. With this expansion, another 30 to 40 employees will be hired.

Weir Enterprises, LLC will be hosting daycare/early childhood center at 1717 Lake Avenue. About 60 children will have the opportunity to take part of the programs available there. Ten employees will be employed at the facility. The new facility will be open in two weeks.

The city council members approved two resolutions that recognize the real estate for both endeavors as an Economic Revitalization Area for future tax abatement opportunities.
